A Poem from Kenzie

Brody

You smile at me, toothlessly,
like a jack-o’-lantern does on
Halloween night.

You laugh at me, happily,
like a tickled baby monkey
does at its mothers sight.

You cry at me, uncontrollably,
like a human being does
when he loses a fight.

You wonder at me, unknowingly,
like a curious cousin does
to one of a greater might.

a long time ago that really wasn't that long
