My Own Two Hands

Today I was thinking about that song that Jack Johnson does so well, "With My Own Two Hands." A few of the lyrics say, I can change the world with my own two hands, make it a better place with my own two hands, make it a kinder place with my own two hands, with my own, with my own two hands.

Our hands are the instruments that play the music of our heart.

I like to watch Kenzie's hands in action as they play with her doll house, color, paint, do puzzles and perler beads, and on and on they go. Her little hands do not stop. They like things to handle, manipulate and move. They love purses to pack, pencils to push, crayons to sharpen, scissors to cut, play-doh to squish, pages to turn, balls to throw, water to splash and dolls to dress. She needs to be reminded to wash her hands, not let them hit anyone and to hold my hand when we are in a parking lot. Hands are connected to the arms that give hugs.

Hands are a good place to start when it comes to figuring out how to make the world a better and kinder place.

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!
