This picture was taken in the Spring of 1979, a year before this little boy, my brother Robbie, was killed in a tornado. The tradegy happened in July of 1980. Rob was a happy child, a little pistol, the youngest of nine children. That's me holding Kenzie's mom. She was almost nine months old. One of Robbie's famous lines was "I want a goody!" That's what he called treats!

"When someone we love becomes a memory that memory becomes a treasure." Robbie is a treasure....
Oh dear....this are tragedy that I could only see on TV, cos' the only natural disaster over here is either 3 full days of rain or 1 week of rain-less....
are you the eldest among the nine?
Robbie sounds like he was a fun boy. I can't imagine how you must miss him,and treasure the memories. I like the "Goody" quote. Makes perfect sense to me! :) Great picture! You two look a lot alike.
Con, What a great picture. I remember the day like it was yesterday. The funeral, how the priest called him "Bobbie" and not "Robbie", how you and I laughed uncontrollably in church to relieve our anxiety, and how Jimmy elbowed us to stop as if he was a great saint. Do you remember how mother wanted us all to wear black as if that was important? Her focus on that was her way to cope, I know that now. What I also know is the spirit of Robbie (AKA Goober) lives in all of us siblings, teaching us, first hand, that life is so precious. Thanks Con, From the oldest, Jean
Goober! Jean, I forgot that nickname. Shell's nickname is Goomer and Mike's is bony.
Rob was a Goober! It was a great handle for a little guy that had an adorable smile.
