Digital Reflections

About a month ago, I made my screen saver a slide show of my pictures. This way I can watch them fade in and fade out while I'm in my office/playroom or just passing by. I guesstimate that the hard drive contains over two thousand pictures. The amazing thing is, this collection of digital photos didn't take flight until Kenz was born, six years ago. I scanned in some old photos, but the bulk of them were taken since I've become a grandparent.
What would I do without the colorful memories.? I have tons of paper photos of my children growing up and over the years have arranged and rearranged them in photo albums, enough to have viewed them umpteen times. My plan is to scan them in so they can also take their place in electronic history.
A few years back when my computer crashed, I asked the repairman if it had something to do with having so many photos. He assured me that the black box under my desk could hold an infinite amount. Since then, I don't worry about having too many. Every one of them, including the back of heads, frowning faces or blurs of a child running by, all of them, are segments of recorded living that have been downloaded.
Each photogragh appears on the screen saver for twenty seconds. There's no time sequence, so they flow like thoughts, randomly. With most of the flashbacks, I am able to recall the emotion that was happening at the time of the picture... be it boredom, relaxation, sadness, confusion, joy, etc.
Digital photos are life in rewind, saved to review, to reflect upon and to enjoy.

Hi Connie. My photos are my screen saver too -- I really love looking at them, even the goofy pics where I look hideous because my granddaughter begged me to make funny faces. Mostly, of course, I like looking at the other members of the family. Happy New Year! Sally

What a great idea however, I have so many I wondered if it could hurt my memory as well...
